Orthokeratology

What Is Orthokeratology?

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) is another successful method of myopia control. Ortho-K is a hard lens designed to change the shape of the cornea and correct the near-sightedness while a patient sleeps. The patient then does not require glasses or contact lenses during the day.

The cornea re-shaping changes the way light focuses in the back of the eye and greatly slows Myopia progression in a large group of patients. There is no age minimum for treatment.

Dr. Labiento-Smith is fantastic! Not only did she do a great exam, and a spot-on refraction, and give me a sample of some really great eye drops for allergies, but she also found that I had a previously undiagnosed medical condition, which I am now getting treatment for.
